S D M College of Naturopathy, Ujire

This College was established in August 1989 by Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society functioning under the patronage of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala. The driving force behind this institutions is the able leadership of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala.

The unceasing quest of Dr. Heggade to revive our ancient heritage of arts and science has found expression in this unique institution. This modern edifice stands as a tribute to his aesthetic sense; and imparts knowledge in all branches of the ancient art of Nature Cure and Yoga. The quality of teaching and learning in this healing art at this institution has seen it earn recognition as a Bachelor Degree Course - a recognition that has been accorded for the first time in the world for such a course.

The college is located at Ujire, nested cozily at the foot hills of the picturesque Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is situated about 65 km - barely an hour's drive from the port town of Mangalore, which is well-connected by road, rail and air. Moreover, it is also close to Dharmasthala, the revered pilgrim centre of South India attracting millions of pilgrims of every religious faith. Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala has come to be widely recognized as a symbol of communal harmony and amity.
