B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) programme aims at preparing nursing professionals to take up the responsibility as a health team member in the health care delivery system. The students are given exposure to the theoretical and practical aspects of behavioural science in the context of physical, biological, social and psychological management of patients. In addition, the course imparts knowledge in regional language, English and constitutional law to help the students to develop communication skills and safe guard self interest and to protect their clients. The course is designed to provide a balance of professional and general education and also to enable the student to become a nurse practitioner with self-direction and a responsible citizen.
Clinical Facility for Nursing students
We are providing clinical facility in multi-specialty 750 bedded Government Wenlock Hospital and Lady Goshen Hospital, Mangalore for the practical experience of the students. Being the Government hospital students will be well experienced from all the practical aspects of handling deceases starting from fever to Malaria, Cancer to Aids, Cranium to Kidney etc. Every 10 students will be monitored by a lecturer/ tutor so as to ensure that all the nursing students actively participate in clinicals and get hands-on experience in reality. Before sending for clinical, students will be trained in nursing fundamental lab about the basic principles of nursing.
Transportation facility
College is having its own buses for the benefit of students so as to carry the students from college to hospital, hospital to hostel, for rural & urban health centres, tours etc. Care has been taken to ensure safe and quick service and to teach students indirectly about the promptness.
