College of Nursing Sciences (MAHE), Manipal

To meet the needs of the expanding health services of the country, a need was felt to start a Manipal College of Nursing to prepare well-qualified nurses. With the admission of 30 B Sc Nursing students in the year1990, the college started functioning as a unit of Kasturba Medical College.

The Manipal College of Nursing became an independent institution in June 1994 under the Manipal University. It signed an MOU with Hochschule University of Bremen, Germany and has been admitting students for short-term courses. The college has been recognized by the Karnataka Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council and offers B Sc, M Sc, M Phil & PhD programs.
